An Example for violence in Christianity is the crucifixion of Jesus and one for Buddhism is Ganeshe’s story of getting his head chopped off.. can anyone help me with two more?? thankkssss!

When you say IN the tradition, you mean it’s dogma or by it’s followers?

In the bible god commands the jews to kill several peoples off, including the Canaanites and the people of jericho. He wipes out the world in a flood. Has his people conquer the ‘promised land’ which already had an owner. Etc. By christians just see the crusades, the witch hunts, the genocide of native americans, etc.

For Christianity, the Crusades and the Inquisitions come to mind. For Buddhism, there were battles between monks on and around Mt. Hiei just outside Kyoto. See link below.

During the Buddha’s lifetime in India, there was his accepting as a monk the famous killer Angulimala, second link, and the Buddha’s cousin Devadata trying to kill him, third link.

Actually the story of Ganesh is a Hindu story and not a Buddhist one.
You can read about how Vietnamese Buddhist monks during the Vietnam war burned themselves alive or how Tibetan Buddhist nuns and monks are tortured and even killed for not denouncing their faith.
If you’re looking for something violent that happened to the Lord Buddha, he did have a number of detractors. One poisoned him.

The Christian Crusades were violent, and the war in Sri Lanka is also going on right now that many Buddhist Monks are participating in.
