aubrey: How do I know if my kitten needs a friend?
I have a 5 months old female Persian kitten. I also have three male domestic cats, aged about 2 years old. My kitten often follows the other three cats everywhere they go, or just keep staring at them.
Does it mean that my kitten needs a friend to play with? Should I adopt another kitten for her company?
My kitten always play by herself. The other three cats don’t want to befriend with the kitten.

you should get another kitten. It’ll be more fun for your kitten, and you’ll get another fuzzy friend, too
its best if you have another kitten like this one so that it can play with it
the reason why you’re kitten is staring or fowling the other cats is because she isn’t familiar with you’re other cat….adn the reason why the others cats don’t want to play with you’re kitten is because they aren’t used to it…don’t worry as soon as the kitten gets older it will have more courage and it will socials with you’re cats fasterAnswer by Nicole L

Definitely get another kitten. My cat was doing the same thing, we got another kitten about 2 months younger than him and they are now inseparable.Answer by stillwatersrun31
I recommend you get another Persian or Himalayan kitten, possibly a Siamese. Your main problem will be that Persians have a strong tendency to take care of themselves interbreed, and they really don’t like other breeds, especially American Domestics. Its a personality trait problem with the two breeds. Domestics tend to be active hunters while Persians have a tendency to do their own thing. Lets face it, Persians have an attitude about other cats being somewhere far beneath them.
My family has always tried to pair male and female Persians and Himalayans together. It usually works fairly well. ALWAYS fixed of course, but they seem to get along well enough. Males do tend to have an attitude though, more so than the females. Best of luck with the babies.
