Well, my horse was abused and his first show was really good. If your horse tends to kick when other horses get too close some people will but a red bow on the top of the horses tail to let people know to keep there horses back. Spooky things might consist flags, ribbons, really sparkly stuff, leaves flying through the air, just about anything that moves around a lot and is colorful that your horse isnt used to. I would recommend maybe walking him around the grounds in his halter and lead and let him see and get used to anything potentially spooky. Then maybe once hes settled your could ride him around and let him see everything. When you do this though make sure he sees everything from both sides because horses have 2 sides of their brains. Some banners could be nothing to him on the left side but then go right and he could turn into a skittish little pony. Nothing is worse at a show then having your horse spook in a class and not being prepared.
-hope that helps!!!!!
Answer by IloveLucky♥You could try sacking your horse out. And try riding with a radio on. that way he will get use to riding with alot of noise.
I actually didn’t do anything to do my horse ready for his first show. Beside bathing and what not. lol
