The Fed Up Matthew™: How can a federal immigration law enforced by a state be racist in and of itself?
Isn’t it only an enforcer that can profile and not the law itself that profiles?
Any agency or law enforcement officer who profiles will face lawsuits and other consequences on a case by case basis as they already do with other enforcement issues.
In that light isn’t the new Arizona immigration reform law well within the constitution?
If you haven’t at least skimmed the text of the law don’t bother answering.

This is the part when the liberals, like the Constitution.
However when it comes to healthcare the Constitution is BAD!
Answer by Boss HThe argument is it allows abuse of civil rights by allowing officers to racially profile.
And that is the fact.
Quit trying to play word games. you aren’t good at them.

It can’t be especially when you consider the Arizona law is a virtual carbon copy of the Federal Law which has already been upheld by the courts.Answer by Mike

Exactly, they do not get this!
It is not an inherent flaw of the law itself. ANY police officer can twist a law to his whims if he so pleases. Does that mean all laws are unconstitutional? Of course not. It means the officer is out of line and should be disciplined accordingly
“Boss” need to actually read the bill since it permits nothing of the sort
Answer by Foghorn LeghornOh yea it is but DemonRats cannot be reasoned with. The only thing they know is rioting, looting and mayhem.
The Liberals should be more concerned with what happened to Robert Krents and the people of Arizona. But oh no just like the typical criminal defenders that they are they probably blame the victims.
Liberals are nothing more then retarded communists.
Answer by §§pecial Unicorn™If someone keeps proclaiming it unconstitutional, then they need to equally proclaim federal law unconstitutional. Claiming it is is racist is just another way to protest it without real cause. It’s a given that most of the illegals near the Mexican border here in AZ are going to be…well…Mexican. So if you scream about the “racist” nature of it, you are just making excuses. Police are not allowed just to stop someone based on that suspicion. They have to have legal contact and I assure you they will be cautious in that, knowing that anything they do could be struck down in court. They will follow the law. Too bad the federal government won’t.Answer by Apocalypse Now then Genesis

Mike- define how you spot an illegal. Simple. As the law says, if they are in contact with law enforcement already, the law enforcement agent can (and should) simply ask for some valid identification. Most people in the US that are here legally can usually produce ID rather easily. How do you avoid profiling? Simple, ask for the same info from everyone under the same circumstances (i.e. every traffic stop, ask the same questions).Answer by funkyk
i like how everyone keeps coming up with how do you spot and illegal…….well can they speak english….if not then that’s the guy…are they at the welfare office if so got a good chance there’s your man…besides that ,its irrelevant how you spot an illegal since the law clearly states that you can only be questioned if you are already committing a crime or are suspected of committing a crime! not just randomly on the street….which if you are here (undocumented) then you are already committing a crime hence the illegal part…. hopefully more states will follow arizona and take matters into their own hands! since our gov. chooses to bury their heads in the sand about the whole situation!… maybe our children will live in a country where you don’t have to press one for ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!Answer by Paul Grass™
It can’t be as both state and federal law prohibit racial profilingAnswer by satx
I’m Latino, Democrat, Gay, and I support this Arizona law!
The fact is, illegal aliens have “more” rights than gay people. Illegal aliens can see their opposite sex partners in hospitals, and up until just 2 weeks ago when Obama signed an executive order allowing same-sex couples to see one another in hospitals, same sex couples would have been continually barred from seeing one another. Illegal aliens can marry an American citizen, gay people cannot marry in most states in the US. Illegal aliens can march on Washington and request some type of amnesty from a president who supports selective amnesty, gay people can march on Washington, but Obama doesn’t support same sex marriage.
Illegal aliens broke the law entering our country and are using their “anchor babies” (born here in the US) to anchor onto benefits that taxpayers pay for which include: public housing, free rent, food stamps, Medicaid, unemployment, and Earned Income Tax Credit. Additionally, there’s nothing to stop them from having more kids in order to convince a judge to let them stay in the US. On the other hand, many states don’t allow gay Americans to adopt children.
Illegal aliens should all be deported now. We need to end birthright citizenship, and deny illegals social services. Americans are ultimately left to pick up the bill for the billions in services they receive for free all the while paying nothing into the system and send all their earned money back to Mexico to help our their country, not ours.
Citizens paying taxes into the system, regardless of sexual orientation, should come FIRST before illegal aliens who are leaving struggling Americans footing the bill. Illegal aliens are also blatantly disregarding our citizenship laws and are abusing the public assistance system to their advantage. This needs to stop NOW!
Answer by Vivi GonçalvesSATX, you are generalizing!! I understand you!! you (and everybody else who hate the illegals)have never seen your children begging for food around the table and you don’t have a penny to feed them. Situations like this make you believe you have nothing to left behind,so (50% of them) try to get the visa to America, which is always denied , well, they just left one choice, just one thing to do, try to live in america crossing the borders illegaly. I can’t imagine one of you AMERICANS living this situations..
Americans are privileged, they have no idea how poor are some people in the 3rd World and i hope they never know that! It´s sad, mainly when you have kids.
U.S citizens think they have the right to say the all the illegals are criminals because they have not seen their children die of hunger or a disease that can easily be cured because of lack of money!!
You SATX , said you are latino so you were anchor baby too, i suppose your parents are immigrants, were they allowed to get in the country legally/? if yes, Lucky you!
All they want is to live honestly in this country, work and raise their children,…
of course, I agree they could close all the borders BUT help people immigrate legally. that would make the difference for you? I’m sure the question its not about illegality. anyaway….
by the way, im not one of the ” criminals” that live in U.S. I used to live there LEGALLY, and when my visa was about to expire, i tried to renew it, and guess what? they deny it, for no reason. I came back to my country, where i have a good life, but really wanted to spend my life in U.S, i really love this country. But no one understands their criterion to get a visa.
it has nothing to do about that question, but i just got indignant with some comments
