Gino: Why do some Christians encourage others to read the bible daily?
Me, personally, I think it’s a waste of time to tell people to read the bible daily since a high percentage of the bible has nothing to do with us today.
For example. Paul states that he doesn’t allow women to teach.
First off why exactly is this important? Secondly what does it has to do with me?
Thirdly, who really gives a flying filth what Paul allows or doesn’t allow?
We know that God doesn’t since he does allow women to teach?
So why do you encourage others to read the bible daily?

Because, reading the bible is the only way we get the truth of our faith. Otherwise, false preachers in the Protestant and Catholic churches will decieve us with their doctrine.

If you were to read the entire book from Genesis to Revelations, you would gain a contextual understanding, and then you would get it!

Actually there is much doubt that Paul wrote that passage such most of his followers as well as most of his Churches were headed by Women as you can see in his writings.

The Catholics simply altered scripture to fit their “male” mentality.
As male still do today toward women.

people who believe in religion (any), they all want others get into routines of their own religions being aftraid person might lose faith in that particular religion. God is inside us, and how well we treat others from each perspective. Let go of bigotry & prejudice of any sort.

(Psalm 1:1-2) Happy is the man that has not walked in the counsel of the wicked ones, And in the way of sinners has not stood, And in the seat of ridiculers has not sat.   But his delight is in the law of Jehovah, And in his law he reads in an undertone day and night.
God encourages us to read his Word daily. And you are mistaken. The entire Bible is important and relevant for Christians today. You just have not gotten the sense of it like so many others.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17) “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness,  that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.”

Because the Bible was written by the inspiration of God, through the various authors. So, in essence, its like talking to God.
