The fastest way to do it would be you becoming a U.S citizen and file a petition for your husband. In about 6 months from the date of the petition your husband will have his green card. Now you can go ahead and file right now as a legal resident to her husband which would take about 5-6 years depending on what county you originally are from but then as soon as you become a U.S Citizen then your Petitions priority date becomes current and your husband can have his green card in only a few months.

Well you can’t petition for him if you’re a permanent resident, so wait til you’re a citizen. A fiancee visa can take anywhere from 3 months to a year, all depending on what state you live in.Answer by George L
It’s true, as a legal permanent resident, you can’t file a petition for your fiance. You would have to be married to do that. If you do marry at this point, you can file an F-21 petition. At the moment, it takes about 5 years for those to become valid so that your husband could get his own green card. While petitions filed by US citizens for spouses are valid immediately after they are approved, that might seem like that would be fastest. However, the USCIS takes months to process them, and months more to send them on to the National Visa Center and the US embassy overseas. So, it takes anywhere from 6 to 12 months to process. If you do marry now and file the F-21 petition, it will be processed by USCIS while you’re waiting to become a citizen. Once you become a citizen, that petition will be upgraded to the citizen petition, but you have to tell USCIS about it, because they won’t go look for it if you don’t. This means if you married and filed now, you would likely save at least 6 months in processing time than you would if you waited to file after you became a US citizen. In the end though, it’s really more a question of what is best for you and your fiance as to when you marry.
