Ceci: Can my husband wear his alphas to our church wedding?
My husband and I had a very small beach wedding in May and we’re planning on having a church wedding after he deploys. For our beach wedding he wore his blues. The first time I saw him in his alphas I fell in love all over again….. 😉 haha. Well I know that blues are for formal occasions, can Alphas also be worn at formal gatherings (I saw some guys wearing them at the ball)?
I like the vintage feel of alphas.

They can be… But they’re usually only worn if blues aren’t available. It’s your wedding though, you can do whatever you want.
I assume you’re talking USMC. If he has a sharp set of dress blues, that’s the attire for a church wedding. Someday you’ll be showing the photos to grandkids. Which would you prefer them to see, dress blues or alphas?Answer by jenny

The USMC Alphas are the equivalent the a business suit. The dress blues are worn in formal or ceremonial occasions. So it really only depends on what you want. Lots of men get married in a business suit instead of a tuxedo. To be honest, even a tuxedo is wrong, since it is for evening wear only, not morning weddings. If you think the Alphas look better, go for it.
If he is wearing Alphas though, make sure that the best man is not wearing a tux, but a suit or Alphas also.
