Frosty: When your foreign fiancee comes to the US to marry can she go back after filing for residency and work permit?
Can your wife go back to her country after marriage with the fiancee visa until her work permit and green card are issued to her since she cannot work or do they provide a temporary work permit?
Thank you

The K1 fiance visa is a single entry visa. She must apply for advance parole if she wants to leave before she receives her green card. When she applies for adjustment of status, she can also apply for advance parole and employment authorization. She can get an SS card in her maiden name before she marries, and is then legal to work until her I-94 card expires in 90 days.

Answer by MatchmakerYou do NOT want to do that.
The normal process is as follows:
She arrives on K1 visa.
You marry within 90 days.
You apply for both work permit (Employment Authorization) and permanent residency (Green Card).
About 1 month later she is asked to visit a USCIS office for fingerprinting.
About 1 month after that she receives her Employment Authorization. She can start work immediately.
About 1 month later you and she are asked to visit a USCIS office for an interview to confirm the
relationship is bone fide.
Sometimes a follow up interview is required.
Then the green card is granted.
So she must be physically present to visit USCIS for fingerprinting, and for one or more interviews. If she misses any of these appointments, her case will be considered abandoned. If this happens when she is outside the USA she will not be able to return unless you start the process ALL OVER again. This time applying for a spousal visa.
If you want to put her to work immediately, apply for Employment Authorization on the day she arrives on her fiancee visa. It costs $ 350, and she can start working about 2 months later.
Then after marriage, you need to apply for Employment Authorization again, with the green card.
Best advice. Do not let her leave the USA until the green card is in her hands.
Answer by pianojangeeNo. Once she leaves after filing I-485, her application will be automatically denied based on abandonment.
