Kay M: Whats the difference between Cob size and Pony size bridles?
Im looking to buy a Tad Coffin bridle and they have Cob and Pony size? I thought those were the same thing?
Would a Cob Size fit a regular horse? I have two and one I feel needs a smaller bridle and one needs a bigger one haha

If I remember correctly, cob is slightly larger then pony, because a lot of cobs have chunkier, less refined heads (Just generalizing). Have you ever seen a gypsy cob? They have LARGE heads.
the size, pony is smaller than cob. pony is meant to fit 14.2hh and under, and cob is for 14.2hh to 16hh, but in my experience pony doesn’t fit more than about 13.2hh and cob about 15.2hh.Answer by livelife2fullest
A cob is significantly larger than the pony sizes. The cob size is made for broader and overall bigger heads. The Pony is made smaller. To make sure you are ordering the right size, look (either through the distributor or company) for a size chart.
Good Luck!
Answer by Meagan KCob is like a happy medium between full horse and pony. I know that my huge headed mustang could fit into a cob bridle on all the way loose. So if you lengthen it out enough, Cob can pretty much fit most full size horses. I had cob sizes because we have had arabs and quarabs with petite heads.Answer by Julie
Cob size is often a little wider (proportionally) than pony or horse. My thoroughbred with a normal TB-sized head fits into a cob-sized Dr. Cook’s bitless adjusted all the way out, but a regular horse size fits her better.
Some horses have awkward heads that aren’t pony sized, horse sized, OR cob sized! For those horses you basically have to make a franken-bridle by taking different parts of different bridles (usually you can buy the parts separately) and making one bridle out of it. Like it might need a cob-sized browband but a pony-sized throatlatch, or something like that.
Answer by KCPony is for PONIES ha ha.
Cob is generally for smaller horses around 14.2-15.1hh (with the average size head).
In saying that, I use a Cob halter on my two horses and they are 15.2hh and 15.3hh.
Answer by DriverPony size is pretty darn small – best for small or medium ponies. Most large ponies and small horses wear cob size, unless they have a big head. I have the following size horses and bridles: 11.3hh (pony), 12.3hh with a big head (cob on the smallest holes), 14.3hh (cob) and 15.3hh (horse).
