I know most olympics guys who do gymnastics started when they were like 5 or something, but what was the latest someone started?

Most males start about 7. There are so many elite gymnasts I can’t really tell you a straight answer. You can become a junior elite gymnast at the age of 10-11. You become a senior at age 16. Most men usually compete in internation competition between 18-27 years old. So starting after 9 years old would be a late start.

I do know Daiane dos Santos of Brazil, a world gold medalist on floor, started when she was 11. That’s very late for women’s gymnastics.
