rocklyii: How can i improve and get more consistant in tennis?
I been playing with my friends lately, and I find that I’m “degrading” in tennis, especially my groundstrokes. Any suggestions on how to practice and get better in tennis?

You have to learn to hit top spin. That is what can get you to the next level. For now. Bend your knees, hit it in front and aim high over the net to be consistent.
find somebody that’s 10 – 30 percent better than you and practice regularly with this guy (three times a week) just hit the ball for about thirty minutes, but then play “10 point games” where you don’t serve but just start by hitting the ball. the point starts on the third stroke of the rally. after about five games, switch to playing real breakers. be competitive and really try to win every game.Answer by dennisfortennis
Practice with a goal in mind. ie: to get 10 consecutive good serves. Get automatic.Answer by thanhcso
most pros hit topspin strokes most are there shots are top spin i do too or i like to do is hit alot of balls over and over rally alot and see how u are making mistakes its good to also say bounce and ball to have more cosistency as well like when touch ground say bounce and when u hit it say ball and youl’ll hit it over the netAnswer by M Dubb
Go to a local club, use a ball machine…and hit to the same side of the court near a cone for about ten minutes.
work on the same stroke for that long…then rotate strokesAnswer by Rubin D
learn the perfect form. have a goal in mind every time and practice, practice, practice. dont get discouraged whenever you miss a shot. just think about what you did wrong and what your going to do next time to improve the consistency of the shot. dont get mad at yourself!
Good luck!

Practice more top spin, slice, and also drop shot..
If you want to be more consistant, just start playing in tournaments.. Even if you haven’t reached tournament level, just try.. You will learn a lot by playing in tournaments,,Answer by pearlygaze
You are getting worse because your friends are not as good as you, therefore, your skills are not getting the type of practice they need. Find someone better than you to hit with you.
Also, you need to practice your groundstrokes once in a while instead of just playing. Hit against a backboard or take lessons.
Practice with a goal in mind, and you’ll reach it! Good luck!
