Praire Crone: What other religions besides Christianity and Islam use fear to convert and control their members?
What other religions use threats, violence and force as ways to convert as well as ways to control the converts once they have joined the religion? For the ones who claim that they don’t use fear, threats etc… I am sorry but even myself has been victim of this. Others have too so you can’t say that it isn’t done. Your history speaks for itself.

No one is being forced to convert, they are simply being warned.
Christianity and Islam both have a concept of Hell, but Christianity is declining and Islam is on the incline, therefore the “Hell-factor” does not play a role.
Answer by Micheal CullisIslam does not use fear to convert. the Christians used to do that but no longer do it to quite an extent.
I think your confused about cults and culture which is why your spouting baseless nonsense. Just because you have been a victim (if every you were) by no means qualifies you as an expert on anything.
History says:
“No other society has such a record of success uniting in an equality of status, of opportunity, and of endeavors so many and so various races of mankind . . . Islam has still the power to reconcile apparently irreconcilable elements of race and tradition. If ever the opposition of the great societies of East and West is to be replaced by cooperation, the mediation of Islam is an indispensable condition.” –H.A.R. Gibb, WHITHER ISLAM, London, 1932, p. 379.
The same is not said of any other religion.
