CJ Baby’s: What other kind of entertainment besides dancing for wedding?
The church where we are having our reception is pretty strict. They don’t allow dancing. I don’t want the reception to be in a total silence. What are some good ideas out there?

You could just hire a Jazz band to play the standards. Hardly anyone knows how to dance to Jazz anyway, and it’s very classy and many people enjoy just listening to it and taking it in.
I heard that some people play games at their wedding. Avoid stuff like twister because you don’t want an awkward situations but check out these sites:

You could always do your own version of the newlywed game
Answer by Ricky ShettyI recommend having a Wedding Magic Show!! Take a look:
Wedding Magic Shows
There are several times during weddings where magic can be the perfect form of entertainment. I have some romantic magic that has been specifically designed for weddings and is only performed at weddings. Since the day is a celebration of the love between the two people getting married, I want my performance to reflect that and help maintain that feeling.
My close-up magic shows are extremely well-received during the cocktail hour, before dinner, and after dinner. Since I am mingling amongst your guests, I can perform for them in small groups and allow the reception to proceed along its own schedule. I am able to quickly adapt my close-up show in the middle of a performance to allow for speeches and I can stop each piece at any time, should something for the reception come up.
My stage show is a great way to keep every guest entertained during the cocktail hour and it also works extremely well just before the dancing starts. The stage show can be performed in any venue, so every wedding can incorporate it. When you want to highlight the entertainment section of your wedding to your guests, then I always recommend this show because you will still be talking about the magic on your anniversaries to come!
Answer by Shelby♥I went to a wedding that didn’t have dancing. We played a lot of games (like games you’d play at a shower). There was also karaoke which was really funAnswer by Because I Said So
Just because they don’t allow dancing doesn’t mean you can’t play soft music. If they won’t even allow that then you need to find another venue for your reception because your guests are the most important thing that day- you need to make sure they are comfortable and entertained. Games are not appropriate for a wedding, you really only need to provide music.
