: How can you make it less awkward when slow dancing in middle school?
Me and my boyfriend are in eighth grade, we’ve been dating for a little over two months now, and the first dance is coming up. Which I’m totally excited for. But I’m not good at dancing, he’s not good at dancing, so how can I make it less awkward when we’re slow dancing or avoid the situation without avoiding the dance?

hun its slow dancing u dont hav 2 break dance or show off moves 🙂 dont worry about!!! make it special all u hav 2 do is put ur hands around his neck and he will put his hands around ur waist and then u sway to the beat. try to look in his eyes and he will look in urs and tht says it all. good luck and dont stress ur self out

It’s so much easier dancing to a slow song, than a fast one. Even if neither of you can dance.
Basically, just hold one another, and move around the floor. Just try to avoid stepping on each other’s toes.
As you still have some time, ask a friend, your mother, big Sister, or Aunt, to teach you a few dance steps. Then on the dance floor, or before the dance, you can show him those steps.
Actually, there are very few steps involved, when dancing a waltz, Just do the basic box step.
It will all work out, believe me. It’s not rocket science. If worse comes to worse, just shuffle around the dance floor, Most songs, only last a few minutes at best, so you can manage that, very easily.
