Maggie: Is it normal for girls to get sexually aroused while dancing or from music?
Is it normal for girls to get sexually aroused while dancing at a club? I don’t just mean when they’re dancing with someone else but getting extremely aroused from just the act of moving to a driving beat on a strobe-lit dance floor.

Yes, it is normal – both guys & girls can become aroused if they receive effective ‘cues’ from certain kinds of sights, sounds or feelings…ask any guy if he ever got an erection on a slow, rumbling bus. Some ‘cues’ are so personal that they only touch the person who has a psychological or sexual connection with them – for example, you have probably heard of people who get turned on by feet/shoes or by touching a girl’s hair. The movie star Cary Grant lost his virginity in a showgirl’s dressing room, surrounded by colourful theatrical costumes and ever afterwards, he was turned on by bright colours which reminded him of that event.
At a dance club, the slow rhythms mimic your heart beat, and fuse with your brainwaves – reaching the less reasoning, more animal/instinctive parts of your mind; the strobe lights do similar things. Also, on a dancefloor people sweat and give off all kinds of lingering ‘cues’ that you don’t conciously notice – they can help you to become sexually motivated by the things you DO notice, the lights, the beat; etc. If you have even had a sensual experience with a partner on a dancefloor, that is going to bond you to the sights and sounds in a big way too.
