Rotties for life!: What is the difference between buying and adopting a puppy or dog?
A breeder, who, well bred for the first and only time due to an accident of his female getting out of her gate, asked a friend of mine Do you want to adopt a puppy? Then he asked another lady, Would you like to BUY a puppy? (BUY not ADOPT) Whats the difference between BUYING and ADOPTING puppies?
She was actually planned to be fixed a week after she got pregnant thinking she wasn’t going to get to pregnant during that time.

Adopting, you save a pets life and buying u pay a lot for it
When you adopt from a shelter or rescue group, you’ll give a dog a second chance at finding a home and you will not add to the nation’s pet overpopulation problem. The reality is that millions of unwanted pets must be euthanized at animal shelters every year — many because they could not find families to adopt them. When you BUY a puppy/dog you are paying for the actual dog more than anything else. When you get a puppy from a breeder or pet store, usually you are buying a dog.
You should always adopt a dog in need unless you are buying a puppy/dog from a good breeder. Never buy from a petstore.Answer by Sassy
When you adopt a puppy there should be no or very little charge. You are taking an otherwise “homeless” puppy and giving it a good home and probably saving it’s life too. Adoption is much better than purchasing a puppy. I think people who adopt are terrific and genuinely care for the animal they adopt whether it is a mute or pure bred. I hope your friend has gotten her female spayed before she has another unwanted pregnancy.Answer by ♥Mustard♥
adopting is just like saving a dog from death or a horrible life in a shelter full of other dogs
buying is paying up to 1000 to get some purbred dog that may look pretty but was bred just for that being cute and getting the breeder more money
he may of just said the wrong word there sounds like he wants to sell these puppys
Answer by Memphis BelleRescues tend to use “adopt” to engender sympathy for the plight of the canines in their care who are in need of a second chance home.
Rescues charge a fee {sale price} to “adopt” a dog to help defray their running costs, so the dog is sold to the new owner.
If a breeder agrees to sell the a puppy & the purchaser agrees to pay the sale price, the dog is sold to the new owner.
No legal difference, just the wording. Whether yo use buy or adopt if money is exchanged for ownership of the dog, it is a contract for the sale of property from the owner to the purchaser.
