takeinginsulin: taking pets to mexico by airplain?
am traveling to mexico for 6 months i want to take my dog with me, can he travel with my on the airpalin?? are there difrent laws while entering mexico?? with him? and what about the airline?

You will need to call your specific airline to ask about their policies and fees.To legally bring the dog to Mexico, you must have an international health certificate that is no more than 72 hours old at the time you arrive in Mexico and also a complete, current shot record and RECENT rabies shot..even if he had one a few months ago…do it again right before leaving. Your vet should be familiar with these forms. See site below.
You will need to check with your airline. It not only depends upon airline policies, but also on the size of the plane in which you are flying. For instance, some of the smaller jets that fly to Mexican cities can not accomodate large dogs.
