Aymie Gabron: What does the Bible say about being horny outside of marriage?
Of course I know it’s a sin to fornicate. I am 26 and single. I am horny ALL the time. So much so, especially during ovulation, that it actually hurts. I am trying to be very good, but don’t know what to do. Am I allowed to masturbate, according to the Bible? Is there scripture that refers to this one way or the other?

It says do not lust after the flesh.Answer by good tree
It’s not a sin to be tempted, even Jesus was tempted. The Bible says nothing at all about masturbation, so I would pray about it and see if God speaks to you on this. He is ultimately the one who gave you the ability to feel urges. Just don’t give in to them with anyone!Answer by Brainiac

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin…
… Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Stop letting fear and superstition ruin your life and do what makes you happy. You only have one life. Don’t waste it on guilt and fear.Answer by Toke Lover – CANTHEIST
Yes, it is difficult. That’s part of the point of YOUR religion…your God & his son made huge sacrifices, as the story goes, so these little sacrifices should honour that…
But that aside, lusty thoughts are supposedly a sin in many Christian denominations.

God says “Those who do not masturbate-eth shall be put to death” (Old Testament)Answer by Jim
Jesus said in Matthew 5 that lust is equated to adultery in one’s heart. He goes on to say immediately after that, “If your eye offends you pluck it out . . . . ” and “If your hand offends you cut it off” So in the context of talking about lust, it appears this is referring to a lustful eye and a hand given to self-pleasuring as a result of lust.
Having said that, Matthew 5 must be understood in the context of verse 20, which says, “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and the Pharisees you shall not enter into the kingdom of God.” The scribes and Pharisees were men who were experts at knowing and keep every detail of the letter of the law of God. But Jesus was trying to point out that keeping the external aspects of the law to the letter was not good enough. For one could refrain from murder, but yet still destroy another person with their tongue or their treatment of them. And one could physically refrain from the act of adultery and still have a heart that was filled with lustful thoughts on a continual basis. So in a literal sense, if one would expect to attain victory over lust by their own efforts without God, they would have to pluck out their eyes and cut off their hands. But thankfully, the grace of God in Christ gives us the power to overcome sin so we don’t have to do that.
And so what the law is doing in these examples is showing us the sinfulness of our hearts, even though we might be keeping the letter of the law. The whole point that Jesus is making in this sermon is that none of us is good before God because we all have sinful hearts. And none of us is capable of fixing ourselves or doing better in our own strength.
The only cure for a lustful heart is the cross of Jesus Christ. Sure we need to be saved from the penalty of our sins, but the cross also saves us from who we are – natural born sinners within uncontrollable urges and lusts. The way this works is that our spirits become united with the Spirit of Christ when we receive Him by faith, and as a result of this spiritual union, our old spiritual self is put to death with Him on the cross. Hard to understand, I know, but that’s the way the scripture explains it. And then when Christ rose again, we are raised with Him to newness of life, so the new spiritual life that lives within us is the Spirit of Christ Himself. That is why Paul wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me . . .” (Galatians 2:20)
The problem is, your body and brain was not saved when your spirit was. And this is why Paul tells us in Romans 12:1&2 that we need present ourselves to God, not be conformed to the thinking of this world, and be transformed by the renewing of our mind.
Our minds have been corrupted by the effects of sin and only the Spirit of God working through the word of God can cleanse our mind of this corruption and cause our thinking to come into line with our new spiritual identity. And that is what the process of spiritual growth is all about.
