Ivy: What books should i study to get ready for college?
Hello. I’m wanting to do some studying to refresh my brain before i enroll in college. Any suggestions on what text books i should study? I’m looking for things to cover my basics mostly, like biology, math, literature, etc. PLEASE help! There are so many books out there and i need help finding the right ones.

From the sound of it, it seems like you’ve been out of school for a while. If so, I would suggest figuring out what college you want to go to, then what major of study you would want to be in. From that point, you can look at what freshman classes you would be taking. Those freshman classes, at least the first quarter/semester, are just a recap of high school, maybe at a little more intense level, but high school nonetheless. Think of it this way: if you study those books, you’ll have a refresher, then when school starts, you’ve already been through those course materials so you’d have a little bit of an edge.
Other things you could do:
1. Go to your local high school, see what kind of text books they are using, then see if you can borrow them from a library. A basic HS biology or math book would suffice. Depending on your college and the major you’re thinking of, Algebra or PreCalculus might suffice.
2. Check with your college to see if they have placement exams. If they do, most often they will sell little review pamphlets that contain some info that might be useful to you.
3. Talk to either a HS or college counselor. They might have some information regarding getting ready for college.
I would also suggest visiting after the launch, August 15th. It has some info that might give you some insight before and during college.
Cheers
