What is a well-known, good work of literature that deals with men who abuse their family?
Like a man that beats his wife and/or kids?
I think when a household is like that, it is very, very sad. But I haven’t read any works of literature that deals with that kind of theme.

The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet.
There’s a very famous New Zealand book called “The Bone People” by Keri Hulme which won the Booker Prize. It’ll have everything you’re looking for. The sad part of it is at the end you don’t really hate any of the characters because of the deep understanding that she gives you. It’s a must read!Answer by me
