Kimberly Brown: What are some good books for advanced 13 year old girls?
I like suspensful books, and I hated the beaconstreet girls, and most books by meg cabot. I loved the maximum ride series. I am not allowed to read books about vampires and my parents would prefer that I didn’t read books about ghosts, but they let me. Any suggestions?

When I was your age my very favorite books were the Replica series!
They’re about this girl named Amy who is a clone and the evil people who made her are trying to find her, and her 12 “sisters, in order to create a master race.
There’s over twenty books in the series. It sounds weird, but they are really well written and suspenseful! They’re also easy-reads, so perfect for when you’re lounging by the pool this summer.

Good for your parents–all the vampire books are super overrated. ๐
Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
Sarah Dessen novels, especially This Lullaby, Just Listen, and The Truth About Forever
the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte’s got a bit of everything in it–mystery, romance, suspense–in my opinion it’s the greatest book ever. ๐
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro–a sci-fi drama, and one of the most beautiful and depressing books you will ever read!
The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi
If you like suspenseful stories, try Edgar Allen Poe. “The Telltale Heart,” “The Black Cat,” and “The Masque of the Red Death” are among his most famous. ๐
I know James Patterson also writes mystery novels as well as the Max Ride books. I haven’t read any of them, but I hear they’re good.

Well, some of my favorites that it sounds like you might like are:
The Shack – WM. Paul Young
Eye Contact – Cammie McGovern
The Thief Lord – Cornelia Funke
There’s No Place Like Here – Cecelia Ahern
My personal favorite is Eye Contact, which features a boy with autism. I’m not sure if that would interest you, but even if it doesn’t you could still learn a lot, and would probably still enjoy the mystery of the story.
If you want any more recommendations just let me know!
Answer by A Nail-Gun Is Not A PillowMaybe if you haven’t read it, “The Turn Of The Screw” would interest you….Was going to suggest Kurt Vonnegut’s books, but I don’t think your parents wouldn’t appreciate that,,,,Maybe a little later in life… Hope that helps!Answer by Kaitlyn

Try Down the Dead Road by David J. Nix.Answer by Top Gun
Blades and Dangerous Days, both by J. William Turner.
