The father can apply for visitation through the courts and the mother could not prevent it but she could also apply for support at the same time.}{
Seriousy, if the guy is like that, screw him. He has to go to court and get a visitation order, and if he just drops the kid with his parents, the mother can get that revoked asap, as she should. Does this POS even pay child support?Answer by wizjp

It’s what the court says . You cannot just make up rules , either of you .Answer by car05161967
Since the ‘father’, is the one not owning up to his responsibilities, the mother should get a hold of the father’s parents and collectively they should all tell the father to shape up and start taking responsibility. So the father can’t ‘run home to mommy’.Answer by MadNoys
This is a state by state question/answer. In Texas, they are biased against the male meaning 99% of the time they will side with the women unless it’s proven the mother is unfit. “He still wants to be single” and “BORROW his son once a week” reallllllly doesn’t help his case in the least. A judge will definitely look down on that.Answer by Bob B
As the biological father, he can challenge her in court for visitation rights, which he will get unless the mother has a cast-iron reason why he shouldn’t see the child at all. The fact that she doesn’t like his reasons for wanting to see the child won’t be sufficient grounds to deny him these rights.
The biological mother can also challenge him in court for child support if she wants; again, the court decides what the terms of this order will be.
Answer by LandlordThe father has the same rights as a married father. The mother can not deny him access to the child.
In doing so he has proof that she does not care about the child having a relationship with the father and that gives the father a good chance to obtain custody if he so desires.
He should, that is a bad mother, the child deserves better.
