Tell him if he doesn’t let you, you’ll kill yourself.
Trust me, it always works.
Answer by SarahYou can see if the shelter will explain fostering to your dad. It could help your dad to learn exactly what fostering entails.
If that doesn’t work, you might just have to respect your dad’s decision.
Remember that fostering a dog from a shelter is a big responsibility. Even if the shelter pays for food and vetting, you will be responsible for training the dog and giving it a warm home until he/she finds his/her forever home.
Answer by N3k0 T3nsh1First of all, how old are you, if you are 12 and under, forget about it. If you are older than that, then tell your dad YOU will be the one who will take care of the dog and you will be sure that you won’t have any emotional attachments to it. I think your father is worried that once you start fostering a particular dog, you will get too emotionally attached and will ask him to keep the dog.Answer by Claire B
Does your dad know what fostering a dog is? If not, explain to him that you will not keep the dog, and that you won’t become attached to the dog. Maybe he’s worrying about how sad you’ll be when you have to let the dog go. Promise him that you’ll take FULL responsibility for the dog, and that you won’t become too attached to the dog. Good luck!!!
