I don’t know Australian law but the division of property would have alot to do with what the living arrangement was, how long, if you were married, agreements you both agreed to before the relationship or during it with regards to the property, etc. Depending on where you live in Australia, they could be different from region to region. Like in the US. The laws vary from state to state.
It differs between states, what type of relationship (married, de-facto) and length of relationship as well as the earnings of each member and whose name is on the deeds. You need to provide more information to get an answer.
