Debbie N: My husband has a permanent resident card and it is about to expire?
My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years. He received a permanent resident card on 4/27/06. It expires on 4/27/08 does anyone know what form we need to file for renewal or to extend it?

check with immigration before it expires! You don’t want him to become an illegal alien because he will have lots of problems.

because permanent resident card are good for 10 years.
Answer by CPGIt appears your husband has what is known as a conditonal green card which one gets via marriage to a U.S. citizen, when that marriage is less then two years old.
The form which you need to file is Form I-751, Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence – this needs to be filed within the 90 day window prior to the expiry date on the green card.
You can download Form I-715 and the instructions from the website below
Answer by agelesscordulaThe form to renew the Green Card is form I-90. However, a Green Card is usually valid for 10 years. Since your husband’s card expires after only years, it sounds like he may have “conditional residence”. In that case, he needs to file form I-751 to remove the conditions.Answer by michael d
I believe the form you’ll need is I-751 available at
Good Luck!
Answer by mintgirl79File form I-751 NOW! You need to get in in 90 days before the conditional card expires. I want to say the fee is 400 or so. Do not worry if you do not receive the permanent green card before this one expires, he will not lose status.
