Natasha S: How long does it take to get a fiancee Visa?
I’m from the US and my boyfriend is from England. I’m going to be visiting him in the summer for 6 months and then I’m coming back home to apply for the Fiancee Visa. I wanted to know how long does it take for me to receive it? I also want to know if I can go to England 6 months at a time or is it just 6 months a year? Can I apply for the Fiancee Visa when I’m England or does it need to be done here in the States? I also want to know if I can work in the UK while visiting for those 6 months?
Alot of questions I know. But any help is needed. Thanks!

Q. How long does the visa application process take?
A. It takes 5 business days to process the majority of mailed applications regardless of which visa you are applying for. If you have an in- person appointment, we aim to process all applications the same day, although this is not a guarantee.

If your documentation for a visa is all in order you can walk into either the British Embassy in Chicago, LA or NYC before 9.30am and pick it up after 4.30pm the same day.
You can apply for your visa in the UK but it is advised you do it in the USA where you live.
