Me: What age should girls start wearing makeup?
I’m 13 and about to go into 8th grade. I go to a private school so no makeup is allowed at school until high school, but I want to wear a little on the weekends and stuff. A lot of my friends wear just a little bit of makeup. Not ever enough to really tell they have it. They just look prettier. I want to wear makeup too. Maybe just some foundation, a tiny bit of eye shadow, and some mascara. What age should a girl wear light makeup like that?

Answer by chickenfarmerI’d say junior high (but it would just be a bit of eye shadow and lipgloss) and then a bit more as they get older…..Answer by Lisa S
you are old enough to wear make up. But please take a good long look in the mirror first, what you think is beauty in other people who are wearing makeup, can be a conditioned response to society telling us that we are not beautiful without it. God made only one you and He thinks that you are beautiful just the way that you are.Answer by vdeityra
I think most girls are as pretty as they’re gonna get without makeup.
Makeup makes your natural skin gross as you grow up.Answer by svengteach
That is something your parents need to consult you on. Find out from them what they will and will not allow. And remember, keeping your face clear of makeup keeps it healthier.Answer by Katee.
You’re around the right age.
I think I started when I was 12 with just concealer and powder.
Then over the next couple months, I started adding eyeliner and mascara.
Then I used light eyeshadows and lipglosses.
I think that as long as you’re responsible enough to take off your makeup everynight and wash your face, you can wear makeup. (:
Answer by Stacy BIf you’re 13 you really don’t need foundation. .I think the best would be mascara and lip gloss. But if you want to go all out try some blush and eyeliner. In the end, less is more.Answer by twilightgirl1559
You are at about the right age. I started wearing foundation when I was 13. Just don’t disobey school rules though. Wear it on the weekends.Answer by ECullen♥

13 is around the age I started wearing make-up. Some eye shadow, lip gloss, mascara and a bit of foundation is appropriate. Remember not to over do it. It doesn’t matter if you’re 13 or 30 too much make-up looks cheap.Answer by Carin L

Answer by maliboo_girlMy son is the same age as you and also attends private school and the girls can’t wear any make up to school. But at the school dances – yikes! I don’t even recognize some of them and I’ve known them since K. Do they have mirrors?!
Make up on the weekends should be ok, if your parents are OK with it. Maybe if you ask your mom to help you with it, she’ll decide it’s ok for you.
You probably don’t need foundation, and it’s really hard to get it on right. Maybe a little mascara – gently squish the wand in a tissue to get off excess mascara, makes for a very natural look, no clumps, don’t wipe though or you’ll have tissue all over the wand. Don’t use black eyeliner, depending on your skin and eye color, maybe brown or a burgundy color. Smooth it gently with an eye shadow wand or the special end of the eyeliner. If you use blush, just a bit and blend it, and you can also use it on your eyelids. Be careful not to use too much eye shadow. Blend/smooth after putting it on. Blend blend blend! You don’t want hard lines or to look like a clown. Easy on the lip color, keep it light or you’ll look tacky at your age.
After you put on make up the first time, take off about 3/4 of it and you’ll have it right. = ) Check out magazines for instructions on how to put on makeup.
Good luck.
