its not stopping us so wh make it illegal?

It’s because your mind and body are still not fully developed and you are not an adult yet and are not on your own, so in the event that you do have a child, the grandparents-to-be have to support you since you are too young to do a lot of necessary things legally. Also, it’s supposed to be more dangerous for women to have children at that age vs. adult age.

As long as your not having sex in the middle of the street those laws are there for show. People do not want to think of little 16 year olds boning so they make it illegal. But do whatever your heart and mind want.

People under sixteen can’t have sex? I’m pretty sure you can with each other. You just can’t do it with people older than 16.

The desire to protect our children is overwhelming in all societies. Law makers and societal expectations dictate that only adults should engage in consensual sex. However, some countries have recognised that sex does and will occur (as it has for centuries) between teenagers and so they have an age of consent. In Australia it is 16 whilst the legal adult age is 18. In Sweden the age of consent is 13. Having sex is more than physical. The emotional component must be considered. Not all teens are ready for sex – physically or emotionally. Yes, your bodies are yours as is your minds and emotions. You will have sex when you know you are ready not when governments tell you it is okay.
