tru_story: What can a scammer do with just an account number?
So a friend of mine almost fell for the Nigerian e-mail scammers she gave them her account number but when they asked her to send money she got suspicious and googled them.
Can they do anything with just the Account number?
She gave them her account number, they sent her one of those u have won a million dollars e-mails.

The best thing to do is close the account. Get a new account number. Check to see if any money has been with drawn. If so ask the bank manager what they can do to replace any money that has been illegally stolen from you. these types of scams are so numerous you have to be very careful. Also try to find out how they got your account number in the frist place. I hope this helps
