You should just tell her. When I told my mom, I was twelve. (I’m eighteen now) It was fourth of July too. I just told her, “Mom, I’m bleeding. When I wiped there was blood on the toilet paper.” Your heart races at first. When I saw it, I almost felt like crying. Why? I don’t know. Just tell her. Shes been threw it too. All woman have. Just tell her and she’d show you what to do. All moms dread this. But frankly, I’m luck since I have a boy. It seems like its hard and the end of the world, but then you end up laughing about it with her and all. Its another thing to bond about. You’d probably hate it, but its the price we pay from being a girl!
Just say “mom I started my period.” Don’t be nervous or scared cause she’s your mom and she’s gone through the same thing when she was a teenager. You can bring up the whole getting your period thing before it actually happens. Ask your mom how old she was when she got hers and talk to her about it. It’s a natural thing and many girls prefer to talk to their mom about getting their period before actually getting it (I know I did). So just go talk to her. Good luck!!
