: What is the military equivelent of a criminal records check?
I need a document stating that I have no criminal record for a visit to the UK to work with children in a school. They have CRB (criminal record bureau) checks over there to work with childern. I am active army. What kind of (official) document can I show them, (which I could already have or wouldn’t be too hard to get hold of), that shows I have no criminal record? Thanks in advance!

A letter from your commanding officer should suffice.
First, I am an Active Duty SFC, so why in the Hell are you asking a question like this here???
Go to your NCO and request to see your Battalion S-2 NCO, he will square you away.
Answer by MAJ KevThe military equivalent to a criminal records check is a: criminal records check.
I was in a similar situation as you. While stationed the last three years in the UK, I volunteered with the Army Cadet Force. As the local CRB would not even be able to show I exist, all that was required was a letter from my CO that basically said I was on the up-and-up, had no criminal record, and was not undergoing any negative legal issues at the current time.
Check with whoever you are working with and see if that suffices. If they start to balk, then tell them that when US military members work with the cadet Forces, we get letters from the CO. That should satisfy them.
