Stefanie H: If I buy a home cinema system, can I still use my current dvd player with it?
I wanted to buy a home cinema system but don’t know a whole lot about them. I have a new multi region dvd player so I wondered if it’s possible to somehow still be able to use it with the surround sound?

Hdmi connections? Yes it is possible, depends on your connections
Shouldn’t be a problem. Just choose a system that doesn’t already have a DVD player, and that can handle all your equipment’s outputs.Answer by TV guy
Just make sure the new system has at least one s/pdif AUX input (coax or optical), so that you can connect the digital audio output of your old player.Answer by bbt91945
If you are looking at one of those home theater in a box with a dvd or blu ray disc player included your chances of adding your dvd player is none. Home theater in a box are not flexible for any addition of equipment, but you might be able to connect an audio source to them. I would check the system you are interested to make sure that you can add other equipment to it. The best choice is a receiver and speaker system set like the Onkyo HT-S5200 or the HT-S6200. Hope this will help you out.
