Some Guy: How to hold a motorcycle I am buying from a private seller?
I am going to look at a motorcycle that I am going to purchase from a private seller. I have to get insurance and a helmet before I ride this bike home, so I didn’t know a good way to have the seller hold this bike for me if I decided that I wanted it. I thought about giving him a down payment to hold the bike until I am ready to buy it (which will just be a couple of days) but I wasn’t sure how to go about that. Any advice would be appreciated.

give him a down payment but get a receipt with how much money you gave him ex. purchase price $ 1000 received $ 50 as a down payment

Just ask him if he would hold it for you until you can pick it up.

A. Just ask the guy. The worst he can say is NO.

B. give him a real down payment (like half) get a receipt and a written agreement on terms.
Pick it up by date, refund if “the deal falls through” date.

C.Have the guy ride to your house and drive him home.

D.Have the friend who test drove the bike ride it home (YOU DID TEST DRIVE IT RIGHT?)

E.Have somebody with a pick up truck pick it up.
