Dave E: How long can you keep your bike inside before you have to oil the chain again?
My bike has been kept inside (other than the rides i go on) i would say about 5 times a week for 1 hour. It is left inside and its been 2 years. When should i put more oil on the chain, the bike seems fine, just wondering.

You should be cleaning and oiling the chain depending on how often you ride. I clean my road bike chain every 175-200 miles. On my bikes that I use on the rail trails the chain gets cleaned when it looks dirty or when I can feel there is grit on it.
If you haven’t really been riding it and the chains seem fine then there is no need to oil them straight away, If they start getting a little rusty or something then thats when you should oil it =DAnswer by Old Hippie
I’m a little confused. Has the bike been sitting for 2 years? Or, you go on rides, store the bike inside when not in use & it’s still been 2 years?
If you’ve been riding it on a regular basis – it’s definitely time for some chain oil, if not a good cleaning & then chain oil. Two years is waaaaay past due.
