Jason: How to dance with a girl to a fast song?
So this year is the first time I’ve ever had a date to Homecoming and I am unsure of how to dance with my date during fast songs. I am most concerned with how to position myself in relation to her, where I put my hands, and how to move in general. I have no problem with slow dancing, I’ve just never danced to a fast song with a partner before. Help please? I really don’t want to look stupid. Thanks.

grind. stand behind her, put your hands on her hips, and move your hips to follow hers with the beat of the song.
Im going to assume you will be in front of her, with her back to you, no?
If that is the case, just slowly move your hips to the beat..Dont try to hard or move your arms all over the place, as this may look tacky.
If she allows you and the music is right, put an arm on her hip or waist to let her know that you are one with her & the music. Looks better as well.
Answer by RobJust put your arms above your head and start flailing around like your catching money from the sky. And move your legs like someones shooting at your feet.Answer by Ashley
Eh, personally I would get freaked out if a guy tried to grind with me. Whenever I went to Homecoming in high school, my boyfriend and I only danced during the slow songs. Then we would sit out and talk and listen to the music during the fast songs. It was more enjoyable anyway, and we got to know each other. Not saying you shouldn’t dance, just presenting another alternative.Answer by aznsoccerdude
aight, u gotta be cool with ur moves. don’t be all aggressive, just keep it simple. get at a certain distance from her as u like and stay cool.
there are sum moves u can do like…
– putting your arms up and snapping ya fingers and also sway your hips
– u can also move your shoulders up and down but make it look smooth
– and grind (if that’s allowed)
– look what other people r doing if u need a visual
just as long as u and her have fun its all good 🙂
Answer by Jen LSo this really depends on your date and the rules of your Homecoming dance. Some schools don’t allow grinding, so if that’s the case then it’s just like on the movie “Hitch.” You don’t want to be flailing all over the place, just relax, feel the beat, and step to the music. Furthermore, different girls have different personal space issues. Do not assume your date wants you grinding on her and your hands all over her. Start out apart, face to face, not even touching just stepping to the music. Then try to get a feel for what kind of dancing she’s looking for, and go from there. Either way it’s not like you want to be grinding all out on the high school dance floor, so keep it classy and just have fun!
