dncr4liif9406: What are the consequences to your body when dancing over ten hours a week?
I have heard dancing for over ten hours a week can lead to scoliosis. Is this true? Has anyone heard of other health problems linked to dancing too much?

well idk if this is right but, most likely i’m pretty sure that it would cause arthritis
As a former competitive dancer, I can asure you that, no, dancing a lot is not going to cause scoliosis. Dancing for long periods of time can cause over-use injuries such as tendonitis and shin splints, but those can be avoided by warming up properly, stretching before/after pracitce, good sleeping and eating habits, etc. Knee problems can also occur, but those can also be avoided through 1) performing extra strength-exercises, especially focusing on your thigh muscles, and 2) dancing only on a proper dance floor (i.e. not concrete). As long as you’re dedicated to taking good care of your health, you should be able to dance as long as you’d like.
