I’m 12, and all I want to do is convince my mom to let me wear natural, like soft beiges and tans and browns, shades of eye-shadow, but she won’t have it! Any ideas how I can convince her?

Same here, I’m 12 too.
It sucks, alot. I really wanna wear mascara, but my ‘rents won’t let me. All I can say is to do your best to act mature, and see where it goes from there. (:

if she feels you are too young then ask her what WOULD be acceptable to her in a calm and respective manner. My daughter was allowed to wear lip gloss that we picked out together and eye shadow when there was a special occasion and not every day, but she also has sensitive skin so we had to be careful when she first started wearing it.. I wouldn’t suggest you push the issue too much but if you choose to talk to her about it don’t make a HUGE issue about it, or do it behind her back if she says no. some parents have a hard time allowing kids to make what they feel are “growing up too fast” decisions. Show her you can accept a “wait a while” decision as long as the lines of communication can stay open.

You’re 12. Why do you need make up?
I’m 15 and I don’t even wear make up.
Personally, I think make up is pretty gross, but whatever. My best advice is to just not wear make up, even when everyone else is. Show them that you can be naturally beautiful, because I’m sure you are.
If you’re trying to impress boys, I think make up is the worst. If a guys really likes you, he shouldn’t care what the hell is on your face. He should still think you’re beautiful. If he doesn’t, then screw him. Hah, so yeah.
If you really don’t care about what I’m saying, just get some money, give it to a friend to buy the make up, out it on at school, and take it off before you get home. :p

My mom wasn’t going to let me wear makeup till 15, but i convinced her to let me wear it at 13 so just give it some time and maybe she will let you wear it.

You’re too young to be wearing makeup. Your mom is right. Give it 2-3 years at least.
