How to check if your film is loaded properly?

emily: How to check if your film is loaded properly?
I’m using a DianaF+ camera with 120mm film and this is my first time loading the film. I have loaded the film but the spool on the right is slightly slanted to the left. I have unloaded the film and tried taking a picture and have no problem advancing to the 2nd exposure. How do I check if I loaded the film correctly? What happen if I did not load it correctly and is it okay if I take out the film and reload it?

Any bits that stick out of the canister and are exposed to daylight are ruined.

Normally you will know it’s properly loaded if you feel some resistance advancing the film
