Wolf: How does a restaurant owner recover his money from a non payee?
I know that if you don’t pay your restaurant bill you are required to wash the dishes to make up your cost. However, since the other dishwashers are still employed and therefore getting their salaries, how does the restaurant owner recover his money? I have never been able to figure that out.

Many years ago owners would make the non-payer work off his unpaid dinner bill but I think most of them call the police now.
Not paying for your meal translates into theft.
Most owners would prefer not to press charges (especially if there is a full restaurant) but they don’t have too many options.
This is a type of theft. Phone the police.
I am sure some restaurants have some type of insurance or back-up to support “loss” of this type.
