How do you get rid of the safely remove hardware symbol in windows XP?

leech on society: How do you get rid of the safely remove hardware symbol in windows XP?
I formatted my computer, and when i reinstalled the OS and started windows again, the “safely remove hardware” symbol was in the taskbar. There was nothing plugged in or anything, and i have since formatted again to try get rid of it because it was causing problems, but it has come back this time as well. Anybody got any suggestions of how to get rid of it?

It shouldn’t cause any problems having it there but still, you can hide it by right clicking on the task bar, then under the bottom half of the screen tick customize and you can hide when inactive from there
