Linda: How do you “bomb” a job interview? Like what would be considered “doing bad on an interview”?

Arrogance or inability to answer basic questions about experience and skills.
Bombing might include being unable to answer an interviewer’s question(s) coherently or at all, or saying something really dumb, like admitting you’re always late, or getting caught in a lie. It could be that you are very nervous and visibly shaken, with quavering voice and trembling hands.
There could also be a clash of personalities; for example you are bubbly but the interviewer is reserved, or vice verse. Although you should of course always be yourself, try and mirror the interviewer as much as you can, and tone it down or amp it up depending on their demeanor. And remember no matter how well you get along with your interviewer, don’t get too familiar and chatty. Be friendly but professional.
Answer by Art TAny time you expose yourself to the employer as either dangerous or untrustworthy,
say… if you arrive by driving in the front window….be pushy about the job, and spit in the interviewers face.
Another good one “Well I listed Java on my resume, because I would like to learn it.” FAIL!
You need practice, a local jr college’s carrier center usually has practice classes.
“Like what would be considered “doing bad on an interview”?
Did you hear about the headline, about the guy who came in for a job,
who had robbed a place? Baaad!
Doing poorly is not getting the job.
You need to insure that you present compelling reasons why YOU should be the one,
rather than the next best one. ( but being next best isnt all bad. I interviewed with an insurance company, against someone with 10 years experience, didnt get the job, but got called 3 months later, to see if I wanted to work with them. )
Leave them with the impression, that they need not see anymore candidates.
HOW? Practice, Practice, Practice.
