Vanessa H: How do I thank my co-worker for this gift?
An amazing man in my department asked that my boss give me a bonus for the work I’ve done for the department (a co-worker has been out sick on emergency long-term medical leave, and I’ve single-handedly took on her work load in addition to my regular work load). I am writing him a thank you note, and I have no idea how to thank him. I want to know that I am thanking him for suggesting the bonus. How do I say this?

yes, send flowers
Funny! I’m in a similar situation, except a woman has been advocating for me.
I think a card is sufficient unless you are very good friends (in my case, I will take my friend out for lunch).
But a card with something like, “Thank you so much for being my advocate, I really appreciate it.”Answer by Bears Mom
Keep it simple and not gushy. Just write a note in a card (or email) to say you appreciate his support.Answer by RaNdOmNeZz~
