If this co-worker outranks you then unfortunately it’s probably just best to cooperate with them, otherwise just tell them you have other responsibilities that need tending to and that they should look for assistance elsewhere.
learn to set boundaries. if you do not know how, ask your supervisor. you are in control of this, not anyone else.Answer by Katherina
If it is personal in nature. The response is no thank you, with no explanition required. Avoid conversation with this person. If they come by your office let them know you have no time to visit and to send it to you in a email. Then send the email to your supervisor to create the paper trail to get her booted.Answer by BikerChick
IMPOSSIBLE. If anyone gets more out of you than you really want to give, then it is YOUR FAULT. Nobody can “take advantage” of you. You LET people walk all over you.
You certainly CAN learn how to say NO. In fact, if you go to your boss and complain about this, they will tell you the same thing I just did. If the co-worker is not your boss, than you should not let her do anything to you. You even knew beforehand this person was bossy and still let her push you around. I know you are thinking you would love to get her written up too, but I think it is time for you to grow up and stop playing victim. If you do not like the way you get treated, STAND UP for yourself and put a stop to it.
