sgrag3003: What to do if your single co-worker ask you out at work?
My co-worker asked me very quietly if I wanted to get a beer with him after work. Is this normal or not normal? I thought people usually hung out in groups and he is a single male.
I don’t want to date him. I just don’t know if it’s a cultural thing (hang out with your co-workers after work) or if he wants to date.

Sounds pretty normal to me. I often go out with my co-workers, and not always in a group. And sometimes, once in awhile, we don’t even have sex.
I’m joking (a bit). How else is a normal single male going to meet and get to know a normal single female? Work is one of the best places to meet.
Answer by sabriHe is single…you are single….nothing wrong with that? Unless your place of work has a policy on dating co-workers?Answer by Crackle_s
If you are asking if he wants to date you/get to know you better, than the answer is YES.
If it was just friendly, the invitation would include a lot of other coworkers.
Answer by v-manThis is normal. But since you said you would not be interested in dating him, you should decline the offer.Answer by marf
If you don’t want to date don’t go for a beer unless other people are present. You don’t want to give the wrong impression. If you want to date go out alone.Answer by launcue
If he is korean and you are western then there are 2 possiblities
1. he wants to practice his english and feels comfortable with you
2. he wants to practice his english and wants to get in your pants. hehehe SORRY! Seriously, he probably likes you.
it is rare for korean men and women to be just friends and hang out. this is usually only for couples. it is a bit different with westerners but i would venture he likes you.
Answer by 80s ManIt seems that he likes you and wants a date. It’s normal for a man to do this in any country. That’s not a cultural thing. If you’re not interested just tell him.
