I wanna know: How do I go about buying a champagne in a ‘gigantic’ bottle?
We went to a mom-and-pop bar one time and they had gigantic bottles of champagne (empty) hanging on the walls. They looked pretty old, but I thought it would be fun for a party to buy one to pour for a party. I would assume the cost is expensive but how would I go about buying one assuming they still make them? Thanks in advance

They are called magnums, this is the biggest size bottle of champagne made.
Pick up truck, liquor store and don’t forget to invite me to the party!Answer by TA
You have to order them from the liquer/package store.
Keep in mind some huge bottles are actually display pieces or promotional products from venders and never contained alcohol at all. Just like the giant perfume bottles in department stores that could hold 20 gallons of perfume…they’re display pieces.
Answer by Mio KI would call major liquor stores in your area and ask them what the largest size Champagne bottle they carry or can order for you. Remember, only sparkling wine made in the Champagne region of France can legally be called Champagne. Sparkling wines that are made elsewhere, might be less costly and there may be more of a selection.Answer by Trader S

The larger bottle formats are usually used for special purposes.
You can find them in most larger beverage retailers.
In Chicago Binny’s Beverage Depot or Sam’s Wines.Answer by Zinfidel
Good god, a magnum is relatively small compared to the largest wine bottles produced … even a basic Wikipedia search will show even a non-wine person that …. and yes, the biggest ones will be quite expensive, it’s not really worth it just for a conversation piece on the wall.
