William: How do I get new kitten to pee in the litterbox?
My wife and I just bought a new kitten. Unfortunately, instead of peeing in his litter box at night, he prefers to urinate in my mouth while I’m snoring. He never pees anywhere else in the bed. Not on my wife. Not on my shirt. Always in my mouth. I love this kitten but this is getting out of control. My wife keeps telling me its my fault for snoring. She thinks it scares him. I disagree. Please help!

lock it in the liter boxAnswer by cheekcokesmiles
boy you must be a deep sleeper for that to happen. have your wife let you go to sleep and try to catch the kitten trying to pee in your mouth rush it to the box .or you can lock or shut your bedroom door at night.Answer by Lainee
I hope you are kidding…but in case this is for real…..I have had kittens and cats all of my life. You should put the kitten in the litter box as soon as it is brought into the house. Then stay with him for a bit. Put him in if he walks out . Do this a few times. It has always worked for me.
NEVER had a cat that didn’t know where the litter was.Answer by cleo
I am sorry but I am laughing so hard I can’t even begin to answer this question. Are you being serious? Really I have tears rolling down my face from laughing. If this is a real question I am so sorry, but I can’t answer this until I regain my composure.Answer by Lauren S
Not gonna lie, this sounds like complete BS; why the heck would the kitten pick THAT of all places to pee? And how on earth would a kitten who can’t figure out the litter box be able to figure out the much smaller area of your open mouth, which then requires to to always sleep face up.
On the chance that you actually are experiencing this…ever thought of not letting it in the room with you while you’re sleeping? And if that’s not enough lock it in another room for the night with it’s litter box. At least then it’s accidents are confined to a specific room.
Answer by LaylaWhoa… now that is a problem! I agree that you should confine him to a room, perhaps the bathroom, with the litterbox. You can gently scratch his paws in the litter to give him that idea. Once he has gone at least once ( even if he misses!) put the, er, results into the box. Cats are highly sensitive to smells when it comes to litter. Once the smell tells him where to go, he should get the habit. You may also want to try a mouthwash before going to bed, (once you feel comfortable letting him in your bedroom again!) as that strong smell may throw him off his nefarious plans.
I feel very bad for what you are going through, but don’t give up. Problems like this can be overcome, and you’ll feel so much better when you do!

When you think your kitten is about to go to the bathroom, put him in the litter box and start to wip his paw in the litter to show him to dig. So then hopefully he knows where to go.
