Kristen: How can I get my dog and kitten to get along?
I have a 1 1/2 year old pug who is very friendly with other animals, however she is sometimes a little TOO friendly. I recently brought home a 5-week-old kitten and I can’t get them to behave for the life of me. The kitten is fine walking around the house, but my dog feels the need to act like the kitten is her own personal toy, chasing after her, barking at her, nipping her. How can I make this stop, outside of yelling at her? Should I place her in a separate room each time until she learns that she won’t have this kitten to play with if she continues? It’s incredibly frustrating.

I suggest you go to the librry and se if there is a vcr tape that might talk about this and offer some light on the matter.
or like the first guy said let them go and they wil be friends in time? this might work out too I had a cat and dog before and the cat got pissed at the dog once and really put the hurt on him after thaat they were the best of friends the cat told the dog in so many ways do not do that again! and the dog responses back ok friend. but you might ask a vet or someone that went tho this recently
Answer by KathynHughNaw just keep telling your puppy bad no no and love on the kitty and show him the kitty is nice. If that don’t work the cat will scratch him once hope it not bad and he’ll leave your kitty be at least not be so rough. Good luck!!Answer by Gaiane t
Well first of all you need to get rid of the cat because dogs and cats never get along dogs feel like its there territory and doesn’t like to share at cats are the same way os it doesn’t match so get rid of the cat.Answer by Arun M
You will have to leave them for few days as you should do things separately however feed them together. The cat is still to small to take control. Just keep an eye on the dog or if your busy then tie him up. The will get along eventually. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats, they keep each other company.Answer by Jeri
You have to give them time to get to know each other. The kitten will probably bare claws once or twice before your pug gets the point, but eventually they will get along well. Good luckAnswer by bakequery
You need to get a squirt bottle filled with water and an empty coffe can filled with loose change. When the pug goes after the kitten squirt him and shake the can and while making a very loud noise, yell, “LEAVE IT”. He should stop.Answer by animalsrbetterthanu
The dog feels invaded. Over time they will learn to get along.Answer by Angela51525354
u should start by puting ur pug in a cage when she starts, and let ur kitty come to the pug they will sniff and u reppeat the it intell ur pug learns that she will go in a cage and ur kitten will get to play unless she behavesAnswer by panamm
you’ve introduced into your home a new life form that intrigues your established pet to be very inquisitive. and it’s a CAT!! (kitten) protect your kitten for the 1st few months (maybe when it’s 2 mo.s old reintroduce it?) when your kitty gets a little older he/she will be old enough and bold enough to establish ground rules (coupla’ swaps at the nose to pug should do the trick)
