keep puppy in a cage with nothing in it to get wet..that includes newspapers… take him outside every 1/2 hour and if he does good with that move the time up to an hour and so on…dogs do not like a dirty cave in nature. Good luck

You should look up info. on crate training. You can also purchase pee pads at your local store. You should also keep a watch as to how much food and water intake he gets. Your puppy should always have assess to water, but food should be monitored. You should only feed a puppy twice daily, and only a little wet food (if you are giving him wet food). To much wet food can make the puppy’s stool loose, and have more accidents.

i don’t know if this is the correct way to do it but the way i train dogs is when they have an accident i take them over to it and put their nose lightly into it and say “NO” in a stern voice and take them outside. I understand puppies have accidents but i really hate it when you take them outside and they won’t do their business until you take them back inside……i am getting a new puppy on saturday so i am going to be starting this training stuff too!! ewwww!!! lol

You should ask him for registration and proof of insurance. Revoke his license ASAP.

What polarbaby said….My husband would do this and it worked every time…..Put their nose in it a touch, tell them, NO, then take them out to grass and say Yes, good boy/girl…..and after they do #1. wait a couple minutes, may want to do #2……Our dogs do #1 first thing in a.m..then..after eating food, in 5 minutes do #2
then mostly #1 rest of day like 1 time an hour it seemed like…
But the funny thing was, was that if we left to go anywhere, no matter how long. Our dog never ate or drank while we were gone….She knew she would have to go and couldn’t (she would be scolded big time)
Get a newspaper, roll it up… bap yourself on the head for not paying attention to your puppy.
Puppies typically need to go once an hour, sometimes more if they just ate or drank. They need to go after sleeping, eating, drinking, playing, walking outside or excitement (visitors etc).
Use an enzymatic cleaner on the spots your puppy goes inside so they can’t smell it anymore later on. This helps with housebreaking.
You might want to think of crate training your dog. Its great for housebreaking and helps when you can’t always be around to watch it.
Answer by Shelley SWhy don’t you train her to go out and use potty pads at the same time? Little pups have to go atleast every hour if not more.. I just got a puppy 3 weeks ago and she’s already potty trained.
