Take a quality you think u need work on and make it sound nice. I said i was too competitive.
sometimes i just cant keep my mind off my job? lolAnswer by sweetz
I would like to respond firstly by telling the interviewers that you view these as not “weaknesses” (which is a pretty demeaning and negative statement) as such, but as qualities that you recognise about yourself, and are continually trying to address and improve upon.
For example, not having a tidy work space… say that you are trying out a new regime whereby you are tidying it up every end of work-shift time till it is tidy, or if you are quiet/shy/reserved, perhaps tell them that you are attempting to redress this situation by giving the speaker quality listening time and giving eye-contact, etc.
You could also state that these aspects of your character / personality are always a work in positive progress! 🙂

i’m not sure what a weaknessess is what i feel is weak you might find that as a strong point. if i gave you an answer it wouldn’t be a truthful one because i honestly don’t know but i will tell you this i have an ability to overcome and adapt. i hate when empoyers ask that question i always wondered if it was that they had a god complex why in the heck with a employer ask you to cut yourself down don’t fall for that question or for the same question what are some of your strong points? i always want to say “pertaing to what my personality?” i always answer that one by saying give me a situation and i will tell you what i would do and you decide if that is a strong point.Answer by ruinedlight
I’d start out by saying, “one area I’m working to improve is…” and name something that will not get you eliminated from the pool of eligible candidates. Then I would follow that statement up with what you’re (really) doing to improve that area. Example: One area where I’d like to see some improvement is in my ability to speak in public. To that end, I’ve joined Toastmasters and I’m working on overcoming obstacles to excellent public speaking. Something like that.Answer by edcyhn
Do they still ask this one?
There is no good answer. If I hear this question, I pretty much write off the place as somewhere I don’t want to work.
But go ahead and talk about being too much of a perfectionist or something, or being a workaholic, or being TOO honest. That’s what they expect to hear. This is really a goofy question.
Or just say you don’t know. Turn it around on the interviewer and ask him/her what his/her biggest weakness is.
Answer by mattmiller18the best way to answer this question is kinda of beat around it by saying something like i believe alot of my weaknesses are also my strong points i believe that to be good at my job and life in general i need to continuously improve on everything i do. this is is especially good for customer service jobs as for any company to remain competitive the mentality of continuously improving is very importantAnswer by Ian
Well, if we look at the job interview questions and answers that we have to give, most of us would agree that this is one of the hardest. I agree mostly with “<ruinedl…"
Don't try to flip the question around. Don't even be that caught up about revealing something bad about yourself. We gotta remember that job interviewers are humans too and they want to connect. Just answer the question plainly and simply.
Here's the answer I've been given in the past:
"My greatest weakness is that I'm not a very detail oriented person. I'm more of a big picture guy."
But then say how your changing it. "For example, in a project at school it was a two-part marketing presentation. One was finances and the other was the whole plan. I had a friend that was really good at the numbers and other details and I was good at the big picture plan. We divided the work, but I asked him to teach me about the finance part and I taught him about the plan."
This shows that were you a good leader, by helping your team and working efficiently. But, most importantly, you really want to improve yourself and learn because you took the time to ask for help from the people that know what their doing while mentoring them in what you're good at.
My advice would be to come up with an example like that.
