chris_t_morris: (Girls responses only please) ‘I’m a crossdresser, what do I wear for my first ever job interview “en femme” ?
I’m 35 & been crossdressing for a number of years now, making regualr trips out for shopping, the cinema, etc. I haven’t confided in my close friends/family about my gender identity issues, and although I doubt I’ll ever pass as a biological girl, I’ve decided that I want to express an understated femme appearance in all aspects of my life and now want to take some step forward.
I recently applied for a weekend job in a London shoe shop, never expecting to be asked for an interview, but the company is question has asked me to attend one! I want to be open from the start, so they realise this is who I want to be, but I don’t want to make it all about “Oh I’m a cross-dresser!”. I’m strugging for an outfit that won’t instantly scream “drag queen” but will have a femme undertone. I had thought of just smart bootleg trousers, a two-in-one shirt & simple ballet flats? I’m just so nervous & desparately want the job, but what would girls suggest re. an outfit, shoes and what type of make-up?

I would not go over the top on the make-up and just go for subtle and natural.
For the outfit, I would wear a formal trousers, such as brown tweed with a bootcut.
A fairly formal cashmere jumper suck as pale pink, round kneck, 3/4 length sleeves.
I think that ballet falts will appear to casual so I would go for some brown leather heels but not to strappy or sandle like.
Hope that helps!
Answer by ice38034I agree with the first person don’t go over the top. Maybe a nice woman’s dress shirt. As for shoes a small heel. Make-up wise I would go kind of natural. Maybe just some powder and a soft lip gloss. I wish you the best of luck! 🙂Answer by Amy H
The outfit you described sounds fine. You could pair that with a simple but neat make-up and hair style. I would recommend some light powder, blush, mascara and lip gloss, light colored lipstick. I think it is important to be upfront about yourself and the outfit you described doesn’t scream drag queen. Think elegant and sophisticated when planning outfits for interviews and work. Best of luck!Answer by sky
I like the idea of you wearing trousers, at least to the interview. This will allow you to be yourself, and not scream that you’re a guy who loves to dress up in skirts. So, Maybe a nice silk sweater set with some sharp black trousers. Then, go for a leather pump that is stylish – after all, you’re applying to work at a shoe shop. Make sure to finish your look with appropriate make-up and jewelry, as I know you will, and do take care of those fingernails!Answer by shanna
Go very easy on the make up, and dress conservatively, a very soft kind of Feminine feel (like maybe a light colored suit) and flats..
